<p>In buried utility pipe runs comprising jointed pipe sections (2A, 2B, 2C), joints are replaced in situ. The existing joint is revealed and cut away. A gap (7) is formed between the ends of the adjacent pipe sections and a sleeve type joint (3A, 3B, 3C) inserted into the gap (7). At least one pipe section is moved axially through the surrounding soil (6) to close the gap and seal the ends into the sleeve joint.</p> |
