PROCESS OF DESULFURATION OF CAST IRON BEFORE CONVERTER SMELTING

摘要

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: steel wire with magnesium filler is loaded into ladle in quantity 0.3-1.0 kg per 1 t of cast iron. The latter is blown with neutral gas through immersed nozzle for 0.5-4.0 min with rate 0.1-0.14 cu.m per 1 t of cast iron, whereupon slag is withdrawn from the ladle and cast iron is poured into converter for smelting steel. EFFECT: achieved superlow sulfur content in cast iron.
