Stable soln. of a Li diorganoamide of the formula LiNR'R" (I) contains tetrahydropyran (II) and opt. a 5-10 C aliphatic hydrocarbon (III) as solvent. R', R" = 2-6 C alkyl. Pref. R', R" = Et, i-Pr or cyclohexyl. Pref. (III) is hexane or cyclohexane. The solvent comprises 35-85 wt.% (cyclo)hexane, the rest (II). The soln. pref. contains 10-40 wt.% (I).
