Lubrication aid for pressed knitting needles

The shaft (1) of a pressed knitting tool, e.g. a bearded or latch needle, is provided with a lubricant distributor on its flat sides. At least part of the shaft is of reduced thickness in the form of a chamfer (15) and/or a cut-back which extends from a region some distance from the upper edge (4) to, or nearly to, the lower edge (5). Also claimed is a shaft thickness redn. in the form of a recess (15a) of wedge or gutter cross-section.
