Deep fluid sample extractor operated by permanent magnet

The magnetically-operated deep fluid sample extractor uses a 15-20 mm diameter permanent magnet bar (14) at the upper end of the connecting rod (11) to control the opening and closing of the upper valve (3). The gap between valve and magnet is approximately 25 mm when the tool is not in use. Pressure exerted on the mother rod (5) opens the lower valve (3) and brings the magnet into contact with the upper valve; further pressure on the mother rod opens this valve also. Closing is effected by striking the bolt (21) which releases the holding lever (16) for the mother rod.
