Corona protection arrangement for inner potential control at high voltage (HV) coils of rotating electric machines

The arrangement has a semiconductor surface insulating material as glow protection (4). This surrounds a bundle of leads (2) made of twisted fibres inside and outer high voltage insulator (5). A twisted inner glow protection contact lead (1) of the lead bundle (2) is without partial lead insulation (3). However in the region where the insulation is missing, the cross-section of the partial lead (1) is increased to compensate. A durable plastic hardened melt adhesive may be provided over the contact lead (1). Alternatively a partial lead glow protector (6) of a semiconductor surface insulation material may be provided. This may be made of a shrink wrap band.
