A compound of formula (I), wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently represent H, an optionally acylated hydroxyl group, an optionally substituted amino group, an optionally substituted alkoxy group or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group, or R2 and R3 my form an optionally substituted hydrocarbon ring; R4 represents an alkyl group; R5 represents an optionally substituted hydroxyl group; R6 and R7 independently represent an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group or R6 and R7 form an optionally substituted ring; m represents 1 or 2; and n represents an integer of 1 to 5; or a hydroquinone derivative or a salt thereof has lipoperoxide formation inhibitory effect and is useful as a medicine for treating or preventing central nervous system disorders, diseases in the circulatory system, etc.
