Exhaust-gas recirculation valve

The valve is esp. for an exhaust-gas return system, having a housing (2) with inlet (3,4) and outlet (5). Two or more openings are formed by valve plates (9,10) and seats (11,12) between the inlet and outlet, and these can be shut independently of each other. One plate (10) at least can be spring-mounted on a stem (8), the latter coupling the two together, and being typically telescopic. A diaphragm spring (18) can be used to couple the stem and plate together. A further spring can be provided, to shut the valve in the event of failure of the actuating mechanism (19).
