Electro-pneumatic converter

The electro-pneumatic converter has a solenoid with a central air duct (13) and with an anchor plate (11a) pulled onto the end of the air duct, to close the air flow, by the solenoid action. The anchor plate has a simple hinge mounting at one end, with a threaded adjuster (23) to set the gap (19) between the air jet and the plate. The free end of the plate is braced by a spring (21) between the solenoid yoke and the plate. The anchor plate is held at the selected spacing from the air jet when the solenoid is not powered. The solenoid pulls the plate onto the air jet aided by the suction effect generated between the air flow and the plate. The hinges are formed by simple plastic tags (25) which loosely grip the ends of the plate.
