Packing for a fluid/gas exchange or heat exchange column presents a number of surfaces (4a-f) on strips (3a-f) which are bent into a pseudo-sinusoidal shape. The strips are formed into two groups (2a,2b) having different periods/pitches which are however so arranged that the two gps. will have at least one common point of contact, at which a fluid transfer between the gps. can take place.
