发明名称 Spaced knitted fabric structure used e.g. for corsetry
摘要 The knitted fabric structure, with two material layers held together by piles between them, has single fabric layers (2,4) held apart by monofilament pile loops (3-5) pressed into place into the facing surfaces of the fabric layers. Also claimed is a mfg. process where the single fabric with its monofilament pile loops is produced on a single-bed pile-forming warp knitter. The fabric layers are placed together and pressed home. Pref. at least one fabric layer can have monofilament pile loops projecting on both sides, for single fabric layers with their pile loops on one side to be pressed into place on both sides in a sandwich structure. the outer surface of at least one single fabric layer (2,4) is free of pile loops, and the pile loop structure can give the outer surface character. The pile loops (3,5) pressed together have the same pile height and density in the warp and weft directions. The pile loops (3,5) stand upright. They can be bonded as a weft into the fabric layer. An additional bonding can be used to hold neighbouring fabric layers together. The two fabric layers 92,40 can be sections of a common fabric web, where their pile loops (3,5) are pressed together by folding it over. A strip, free of pile loops, is formed in the web at intervals. The projecting pile loops can be on opposite sides, in each web section, to be pressed together by winding round a core.
