A camera crane arm (20) has a frame (30) pivotally supporting a central beam section (36). Outer beam sections (38) are attached to and spaced apart from the central beam section (36). A leveling system (64 and 65) is externally attached to the frame (30) and pivotally linked to a camera platform (26), to maintain the platform (26) in a level orientation, as the crane arm (20) is pivoted up and down, to adjust camera lens height. The crane arm (20) is formed of sections (22 and 28) having vertically offset ends (34), to reduce sagging. The sections have a high moment of inertia but low weight, and can be assembled without force. |
