The lock is hydraulically operated, and has a lifting and rotating locking action. It has two pressure chambers (1,2) which are combined with one another, and which accommodate a piston (2), and rotating and control equipment (3). The lifting and rotating movements may be achieved by a pressurised oil flow, which is controlled by edges on the moving parts which open control orifices (6). The rotating device may transmit a rotary motion to the piston using a shape-mating connection between them which can slide longitudinally. The lock may also be operated by another medium which transmits pressure, and which is not exclusively hydraulic oil.
