<p>A 2-position 3-way solenoid valve (100) has first, second and third ports (20, 30, 40) and first and second chambers (44, 46). The first chamber (44) is communicated with the first port (20), and the second chamber (46) is communicated with the second and third ports (30, 40). The chambers are partitioned by a barrier wall in the form of an inlet nozzle (34) and are communicated with each other by an opening (38) formed in the barrier wall. In response to a valve-actuating signal, a spool (42) is moved longitudinally of the valve such that the opening (38) and the third port (40) are opened alternatively. When the third port (40) is closed, hydraulic pressure is supplied to a brake wheel cylinder through the first and second ports (20, 30) to increase braking pressure. When the opening (38) is closed, the hydraulic pressure within the brake wheel cylinder is decreased through the second and third ports (30, 40) to decrease the braking pressure. <IMAGE></p> |
