PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a terminal portion and detect initialization of a waste toner bottle through a small number of processes by providing a means for detecting welding of a fuse by a specific voltage and a switching means having a coil spring, a terminal pin and a conductive plate, etc. CONSTITUTION:When there is a toner in a developer container an operator detects whether or not a fuse 26 connected to a waste toner bottle 10 is new. When the container is empty the toner is supplied and then the fuse 26 is checked and, if the fuse 26 is not new, a DC voltage of 24V is applied to the terminal of a CPU from a power supply portion and a message ordering the exchange of the bottle 10 is indicated on the display of a main body 18. When the fuse 26 is new a current is made to flow through the fuse 26 via a transistor so that the fuse 26 is welded. When the bottle 10 is in a waste toner case 11 the waste toner is conveyed to the bottle 10 from a cleaning unit by a screw 27. Then a door 29 is opened and the bottle 10 is removed from the door 29 and disks 14a, 14b are pressed into contact with respective earth plates 16a, 16b and earthed by forces exerted by respective coil springs 15a, 15b and terminal pins 13a, 13b eliminate static electricity from the main body 1. |
