PURPOSE:To enable a correct printing to be carried out inside a frame, etc., formed on a paper, by using a control means which sets the paper from a first paper position to a second paper position by driving a motor by the drive amount stored in a storage device prior to a first printing. CONSTITUTION:An operator inserts a paper, drives a pulse motor manually or by operating a panel switch etc., disposed on a printer, rotates a platen, and positions an end part 22 of the printing paper on an end face 5 of a ribbon mask 3. A frame 21 of the printing paper 20 is set in a position a distance B-A apart from an impact position 4 of a printing head 2. On the other hand, a motor drive amount (the number of pulses) corresponding to the dimension B-A is prestored in a storage device. A motor is driven forward by the drive amount prior to the execution of a first printing. In this manner, the frame 21 of the printing paper 20 is automatically set in the impact position 4, and a printing is correctly carried out inside the frame. |
