PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically judge an incoming call during absence and to facilitate a post-processing by making a pager freely attachable and detachable to/from a communication equipment, detaching the pager and attaining an absence mode. SOLUTION: The pager 8 is detached from an equipment main body and the absence mode is attained. When a call is terminated during the absence mode, a voice recording and reproducing part 5 returns a response message. A modem 12 discriminates CNG or DTM signals from a prescribed operation to a response. At the time of the CNG signal, memory reception is performed by a RAM 4 for storing pictures, the number of the pager 8 is automatically originated, a code at the time of tax reception is transmitted, a transfer request is taken into consideration, the memory reception is performed and the sheets of paper are saved. Also, at the time of the DTMF signal, the signal number is stored in a system RAM 3, and when it is a transfer request signal, the memory of the RAM 4 is read and transmitted. Simultaneously, the pager 8 is informed of transfer. Also, when it is not the transfer request, a transmission origin number is reported to the pager 8 and communication is immediately performed with a transmission origin.
