PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such an illumination system which is capable of protecting an operator against the harmful reflected light reflected from a mirror finished surface by the water, etc., existing on the surface of the organs exposed in an operated section. SOLUTION: This system is composed of an illumination lamp 2 which emits polarized light via a first polarizer 1 and an eye part cover 3 having a second polarizer. The polarized light from this illumination lamp 2 maintains its polarization property when this polarized light is reflected as the harmful reflected light by the mirror finished layer and, therefore, the polarized light is shielded by the second polarizer of the eye part cover 3. Consequently, the admission of the harmful reflected light into the operator's eyes is prevented. |
