PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of high resolving power having density gradation of high accuracy and to extend product life. SOLUTION: A printer has a first pressure chamber into which a diluent is introduced as an emitting medium, a second pressure chamber into which ink is introduced as a quantitative medium and the first and second nozzles 34, 36 respectively communicating with the first and second pressure chambers. In a case having a printing head 3 mixing the emitting medium and the quantitative medium from the nozzles 34, 36 to emit them, a removing member 62 wiping one main surface 38a being the nozzle opening surface of the printing head 3 from the first nozzle 34 toward the second nozzle 36 to remove the ink and/or diluent remaining on the nozzle opening surface is provided. As the removing member 62, an elastic member is pref. and, at a time of wiping, the diluent may be emitted from the first nozzle 34. Further, a means recovering the removed ink and/or the diluent may be provided and, as the recovery means, an absorbing member is pref. |
