PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a wound treating substance showing excellent treating effect on wound and a wound treating agent containing the substance. SOLUTION: This wound treating substance comprises a new peptide of the formula. The wound treating substance is obtained by culturing a strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing the wound treating substance, such as Streptomyces karnatakensis (JCM4485) of an actinomyces by liquid culture under an aerobic condition, extracting the prepared culture solution, its dried substance by evaporation or its culture cell with an organic solvent (e.g. ethyl acetate), subjecting the extracted substance to column chromatography and recrystallizing the resultant substance. The peptide of the formula in an amount of 10<-10> to 50wt.% is used as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically manufactured into an oral administration form, injection, suppository, plaster, ointment, cream, inhalant, nasal drop, spray agent, etc. A dose is usually 1mg to 10 mg/kg calculated as the peptide per day. |
