PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the wetting properties when various kinds of films and solvent coating fluids are used and improve the release properties for various kinds of sheets by using a specified silicone polymer for a release layer and specifying the maximum surface tension on the surface of the layer. SOLUTION: A release layer containing a polymer prepared by carrying out the addition polymerization of polyphenylmethylsiloxane (A) containing vinyl represented by a formula I with a hydrodiensilane compound represented by a formula II, in which a Pt compound is used as a catalyst, is formed at least one face of a polyester film. The ratio of Ph in the total amount of phenyl(Ph) and methyl(M) in the above-said (A) is 5-30 molar %, and the concentration of the Pt compound in the release layer is 1-500ppm as a Pt metal element, and the maximum surface tension found by a formula ofγLmax=1/b+γc /2 is 30-60dyne/cm. In the formula, R<1> represents Ph, R<2> represents M or Ph, m+(n1 +n2 )=30-5000, N1×0.05<=n2 <=n1×0.3, 5<=a+b<=200, (b) represents a constant found by the zisman plot andγc represents the critical surface tension.
