PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mounting workability of an original by making it possible to easily mount the original at the image input device of a color scanner. SOLUTION: The original holding member 1 of this image input device has an outer cylindrical member 7 disposed concentrically with the revolving shaft of a rotary driving section and an inner cylindrical part 10 disposed concentrically and freely relatively turnably on the inner side of this outer cylindrical part 7. Both cylindrical parts 7, 10 are provided with an outer scanning aperture 12 and inner scanning aperture 13 penetrating the diametral direction in the same positions in the axial direction. The outer cylindrical part 7 is provided with an original insertion port 14 in the circumferential direction of its scanning aperture 12 and the inner cylindrical part 10 is provided with a detaining means for detaining the end of the original inserted from the original insertion port at the circumferential end of its scanning aperture 13. A spacing 26 for mounting the original detained to this detaining means by relatively turning the inner cylindrical part 10 is formed between the outer cylindrical part 7 and the inner cylindrical part 10.
