PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display all picture signals having plural kinds of resolutions which are respectively different in the center of a picture display part by driving only a picture element required for the display of a picture in accordance with the resolution of an inputted picture signal. SOLUTION: Plural scanning signal lines and data signal lines are divided into plural blocks by prescribed distribution. A resolution discrimination circuit 2 judges the resolution of the inputted picture signal, and outputs a resolution discrimination signal to a drive control circuit 4. The drive control circuit 4 outputs the control signal of prescribed combination to a scanning signal drive circuit 5 and a data signal drive circuit 6 in accordance with the resolution discrimination signal. In the scanning signal line drive circuit 5 and the data signal drive circuit 6, scanning signal line selection circuits and data signal selection circuits in the respective blocks are decided to become prescribed states by signal selection circuits provided in accordance with the blocks. Thus, only the picture element required for displaying the picture is driven in the picture display part 1. |
