PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of hydrogen occlusion while raising the hydrogen equilibrium pressure of a zirconium-chromium-iron type hydrogen storage alloy and to provide a practical hydrogen storage alloy. SOLUTION: This alloy is a zirconium-chromium-iron type hydrogen storage alloy in which the essential components of alloy phase are represented by the composition formula, ZrCrx Fey (where 0<x<=2.2, 0<y<=3x, and 2<x+y<=2.7 are satisfied) and also the content of manganese or nickel, contained as impurity, is regulated to <1 atom %. Further, this zirconium-chromium-iron type hydrogen storage alloy contains 0.1-<7 atom % silicon or 0.1-<1.5 atom % sulfur, based on the essential components of this alloy. |
