PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally focalize without depending on the degree of density difference in an original image. SOLUTION: The density area in the original image is detected by a density area detecting circuit 46. The input/output characteristic of an amplifier 33 is regulated based on the detected density area so that image data distributing in the almost whole area of the dynamic range of an A/D converter 34 are outputted. After the input/output characteristic of the amplifier 33 is regulated, sharpness is operated at plural lens-positions by a focus detecting circuit 47 based on image data outputted from the A/D converter 34. A pickup lens is guided to a focussing position based on operated sharpness. By this way, the focussing condition is correctly judged based on image data. As a result of this, the optical system is surely guided to the focussing condition. |
