Raw data segmentation and analysis in image tomography

摘要

In order to avoid the problems inherent in data reconstruction and back-projection in the field of image tomography, a sinogram based technique is used to segment out selected portions of the raw projection data set prior to data reconstructions. The technique enables provision of quantitative parameters in respect of designated objects of interest within a scan field. The technique uses aspects of geometrical predictability in the sinogram presentation to automatically segment out selected data from the raw data set.
