METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING POSITION OF PART TO BE WORKED OF WORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring the position of part to be worked of work which can measure the position of a part to be worked formed on a work with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The device for measuring position of part to be worked of work measures the position of a part to be worked formed on a work 1 relative to a base line preset on the work l. An illuminating and image picking-up optical device 13 projects a light beam having a fixed width upon an image picking-up area which is set on the work 1 beyond the part to be worked from the base line and a CCD camera 12 takes the picture of the area. A position calculating arithmetic processor 14 detects the positions of both ends of the irradiated area in the picture taken with the camera 12 based on the luminance variation in the direction parallel to the base line, sets a measuring area between the positions of both ends, and detects the coordinate values in the picture of the point at which the luminance variation occurs in the direction perpendicular to the base line in the measuring area and the position of the part to be worked of the work 1 relative to the base line by performing arithmetic processing on the detected coordinate values.
