PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a driven for the course without requiring the driver's eyes to shift from the advancing direction by passing the light of different emission pattern alternatively to come within the driver's view in the advancing direction of automobile. SOLUTION: A flickering road guide board 11 emits light in a pattern corresponding to the advancing direction. A CD driver 23 receives a CD recording map information and reads out map information pertaining to the guidance of course from the CD. A liquid crystal shutter 24 mounted on the front glass of a vehicle passes the flickering light in the direction designated by an MPU 22, i.e., the flickering light from the guide board 11, and intercepts the flickering light in other direction. In addition to general control of the system, the MPU 22 calculates the information of advancing direction required for the course guidance and executes a procedure for controlling the shutter 24 so that a driver recognizes as if the guide board 11 is indicating the advancing direction. |
