Encoded data exchange system between hand-held unit and motor vehicle

The system has a high frequency (1-3 GHz) transmitter/receiver placed inside the car compartment. Signals are radiated through the car windows to a hand held opening/closing device. Both the hand held device and the car transmitter/receiver issue coded transmissions modulated on the radio signal, with the car receiver examining for correct coding before opening the car door.
