The implant consists of an upper section (13) to receive a dental prosthesis, a cylindrical intermediate section (12) and a conical lower section (3). The intermediate and lower sections are threaded, with the threads having rounded surfaces, and/or the lower section has a polygonal cross-section, especially triangular, with convex faces (4) and tips (4') shaped to give a progressive compression of the bone tissues as the implant is rotated. The implant is made from a biocompatible material such as titanium or titanium alloy, and the lower section has a conical recess (5) in its end and a lateral aperture (6) connected to it.
