The invention relates to a recombinant DNA which is replicable in corynebacterium or brevibacterium and consists of vector DNA and a DNA fragment which contains a gene coding for aspartate semialdehyde dehydrogenase (asd) and/or dihydrodipicolinate synthase (dapA) and is derived from a microorganism of the genus Escherichia, Serratia or Klebsiella. The bacteria transformed with the recombinant DNA produce L-lysine in large quantity.
