IMPROVED CLEVIS ASSEMBLY AND FLY ADAPTOR ASSEMBLY FOR COLLAPSIBLE UMBRELLA TENT AND FRAME THEREFOR

The present invention is directed to a modified clevis assembly (2) for collapsible tents. The clevis assembly contains a conical pin entry guide (18) on an upper clevis member (2) to allow the tip of a pin (9) on a lower clevis member (3) into the recess (19a) of the upper clevis member (2). The conical pin entry guide (18) forms an integral part of the under surface of the upper clevis member (2) or the upper surface of the lower clevis member (3). The clevis assembly further includes means (25) on the upper surface of the upper clevis member (2) to receive a fly adaptor assembly (40). The fly adaptor receiving means (25) may be a centrally located hollow core (25) extending from the center of the upper surface of the upper clevis member (2) to the apex of the conical pin entry guide (18) or a pin socket or recess at the apex of the conical pin entry guide, or a centrally located fly adaptor receptacle in the upper surface of the upper clevis member (2). The fly adaptor assembly (40) comprises a single clevis member (41) with a plurality of arms (42). Centrally mounted on the underside of the fly adaptor assembly's clevis member is a means (45) to attach the fly adaptor (40) to the upper clevis member (2) of the collapsible tent's frame. The attachment means (45) of the fly adaptor (40) is designed to mate with the fly adaptor receiving means (25) of the upper clevis member (2) of the tent frame.
