High heat conductivity coatings for printer rollers

The novel feature in rollers for ink processing (esp. for distributor rollers in printing machines) is that the coating on the rotation-symmetrical core is of an elastomer and/or reactive resin material, the coating being relatively thin and being firmly bonded. Also claimed is the application of the coating is from a soln. or dispersion, esp. by spraying. Pref. the coating is of a heat-vulcanised rubber, of nitrile-butadiene rubber, phenolic-, epoxy-, polyurethane-, polyester-, Si-, acrylic- or acrylate-resin and/or of a reactive primer system, and can contain up to 50 (esp. 20-25) wt.% filler such as C black and/or silanised SiO2 to improve the heat conductivity. The core is treated with a primer prior to application of the coating. Coating thickness is below 100 (esp. 5-40) mu thick, and the applied coating is thermally post-treated.
