A novel and advantageous method for preparing N,N-dimethyl-N'-phenylurea and phenyl ring substituted derivatives thereof, wherein phenylisocyanate or ring substituted derivatives thereof are reacted with an excess amount of boiling dimcarb. The ultra-high-purity reaction product is recovered simply by distilling the dimcarb which may then be recycled without further processing in a fresh cycle of N,N-dimethyl-N'-phenylurea synthesis. |
