FIELD: shipbuilding; design of hull lines of dry-cargo and tank vessels. SUBSTANCE: incase of reduction or absence of ballast in ballast run, violent motions of ship's hull occur due to straight-wall lines in midship section. To exclude this drawback, bilge of midship frame is round off at curvature radius equal approximately to difference in draft from waterline to draft mark and draft at light waterline with minimum stores (10 percent). EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. |
