COLLAPSIBLE FERRY

FIELD: bridge-crossing means. SUBSTANCE: collapsible ferry consists of folding pontoon end sections and river units interconnected longitudinally by their transoms; end sections and river units are assembled from two end and two middle articulated pontoons which may be separated into half-units. Swivel fairings with joint units secured on them are mounted on end sections of pontoons. Transoms of middle pontoons are provided with similar joint units. Towboats are located at sides of ferry symmetrically relative to its longitudinal axis. Towboats are provided with pushers and have smooth curvilinear lines in fore and aft portions of hull. Innovation of invention consists in location of towboats which are kept in transverse recesses formed by half-units in middle portion of ferry. These half-units are coupled with end units of pontoon; sides of towboats do not project beyond horizontal profile of ferry and transverse axes of towboats coincide with transverse axis of ferry. EFFECT: increase of speed of motion of collapsible ferry by 18 to 20 percent and consequently increase of crossing capacity.
