The closure device (1) has a rotary catch with an interworking blocking pawl (3) and a closure bolt mounted on the cover. A spring-loaded catch hook (6) holds the device in position ready to be opened. The blocking pawl can be disengaged from a latch (7) in the rotary catch by an actuator inside the vehicle, enabling the cover to be raised after manual operation of the catch hook. The cover has an electrically driven opening drive (10) with a control element (11) connected to the blocking pawl. The drive can be activated by an electrical actuation element. The catch hook is integrated into the closure device and acts upon the closure bolt (4) to hold the cover in the position in which it is ready to open.
