A spinneret in the form of a, pref. metal, plate (1) has channels (4, 5) which run from a spinneret entry side to an exit side. Between these sides is inserted thermal insulation which is shut off from below by another plate (8) out of which the spinneret capillaries (5) emerge. The thermal insulation is formed by at least one cavity in the spinneret plate (1). Also claimed is the application of the spinneret in appts. for spinning filaments and fibres.
