摘要 The invention relates to a process for cleaning inert gases by means of sorbents capable of removing impurities from technical gases and gas mixtures. The aim is to develop an economical and effective, technically performable process for cleaning inert gases using sorbents capable of clearing foreign gases out to inert gases to the extent where the latter are suitable for use in laser and cryotechnology. This aim is achieved by the use as sorbents of metal-organic coordination complexes containing lithium and boron. It has been found that suitable sorbents are lithium tetra-alkyl or aryl borates and lithium tetra-alkyl or aryl boranes, lithium tetrafluoride and lithium borotetrahydride, which may be used individually or in mixtures of any sorbents. Substances with particularly good sorption properties are lithium borates and lithium boranes with aryl or benzyl substituents and mixtures of lithium borates and/or lithium boranes with alkyl and/or aryl substituents with differing C-numbers. The cleaning process can be operated over a wide temperature range from -150 to +120 DEG C.
