The piston pump has a cylinder with a radially outwardly protruding ring shoulder (34). At this point, the cylinder tapers in its insertion direction into the block to the diameter of the receiving bore (12). The material of the housing block is displaced plastically by pressing the cylinder into the bore from the shoulder radially inwardly to sealingly adjoin a circumferential face of the cylinder. The cylinder has a groove on the smaller diameter side of the ring shoulder into which the material of the housing block is displaced.
