Storing method for image sequences with image data from camera

The camera contains an image sensor, and detects the image data required for storing the image sequences. The data is supplied to a D/A converter, coded, and stored. After digitalising, the start of a grey value rise, or the end of a grey value drop is determined in lines or columns, using single-dimensional differential operators. For each starting and end point several parameter values are determined and stored, in addition to an image joint number. These include an edge foot mark for the front or rear edge, the grey value difference between the object and the grey value at the edge foot point, and the grey value at the edge foot point.
