A process control method for melt extrusion of two materials, one with constant, the other with variable properties involves measuring one or more of the extrusion parameters and controlling the supply of one or both raw materials according to these measured parameters, the control being effected on the basis of a process model or property range relating the extrusion parameters to the supplied ratio of both materials. Process eqpt. includes eqpt. for measuring extrusion parameters and controlling the supply of at least one of the raw materials according to the claimed process.
