Overturn valve for ventilating pipes of motor vehicle fuel-tank

The ventilating pipe is typically connected to atmosphere via an active-carbon vessel. The valve shuts on excessive acceleration of the vehicle or when its wheels lose contact with the ground. The ball (6) is held in a cage (5) and rests inside a funnel(7). Above a predetermined degree of acceleration it rides up out of the funnel, taking the cage with it, the latter having a cone plug (13) shutting off a valve seat (14) in the vent pipe (4). The cage is housed in a chamber (11) connected by a port (15) uppermost in the installed position to an antechamber (12) and by a lowermost one (16) to the tank interior.
