A method which plays automatically after rewinding the VCR tape automatically to the beginning when the VCR tape is inserted to the deck or searches the end position of the program and perform stand-by mode. The said method comprising of the steps of : detecting the record preventing tab, performing rewinding to the beginning when the record preventing tab isn't there, performing rewinding VCR tape recorded all the VCR signal according to the VCR tape's control signal or VCR tape not recorded VCR signal to the beginning when the record preventing tab is there. standing by after rewinding the VCR tape recorded partly the VCR signal to the recording end position when the record preventing tab is there.
