The pump has at least two pump sections each with a suction area and a pressure area. A fluid path leads from the pressure side to consumer, and a hydraulic resistance element is set in another fluid path connecting the pressure areas. The hydraulic resistance element can be a cold start plate (17) through which the pressure areas can be separated. The pump has a radially aligned rotor (7) with slits receiving the vanes, a pressure plate (11) sealingly adjoining the end side of the rotor and a fluid connection between the pressure side of the pump and an under-vane area.
