Load protection switch with current limiting element

摘要

The switch comprises a current limiting element (2) inserted in the main current path (3) between the terminal clamps (4). The current limiting element is bridged by a commutating path (6), through which the current is passed after release of the protection switch and opening of the contacts. The current limiting element is pref. provided by an actively controlled element, e.g. a rapid-response semiconductor element formed in the surface of a SiC substrate.
