METHOD FOR REMOTE DETECTION OF PASSAGE OF RAIL VEHICLE WHEELSETS

FIELD: railway transport; railway automatic signalling; registration of passage of rail vehicle along track section under checking. SUBSTANCE: ac current of commercial frequency is supplied into two-wire line circuit from side of receiving device through pickup device. Half-wave discriminators separate from ac current the signal to synchronize operation of coder and decoder. Rectified voltage to supply elements of ground-type electronic unit is taken from rectifier output. Track sensor detects number of wheelsets passing through track section under checking. Primary converter and coder form anti-interference code. Coder controlled by half wave-discriminator transmits information cyclically into line circuit by means of switch. Pickup device takes information from line circuit and transmits it to decoder controlled by half-wave discriminator. Information on number of wheelsets detected by track sensor is obtained at decoder output. Advantages of supply of ground-type equipment with commercial frequency ac current consists in the following: no additional devices for conversion of current are required; electromagnetic interference level is reduced owing to decrease in spectrum of harmonics as compared with transmission of information by DC current pulses along communication line; improved conditions of supply and conversion of ac current energy; improved reliability of system functioning owing to synchronization of supply from common ac supply source.
