A communication terminal user inputs specific information, e.g. reference number, option or menu item to switch the terminal to a special operation mode. In this mode, it is possible to initiate connection with a second terminal. The second terminal is defined by input of an internal call number. Other inputs, such as selection information and activation of capacity symbols are interpreted as if they were input at the second terminal. The special operation mode of the first terminal can be started at any time because it does not have a fixed configuration. The operation is ended by inputting a special end criterion. The second terminal includes a display and/or loudspeaker.
