PURPOSE:To obtain a safe therapeutic agent using a readily handleable bacterium of the genus Bdellovibrio without developing resistant bacteria and a method for treating and preventing Vibrio infectious diseases. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to the genus Bdellovibrio, especially Bdellovibrio.stolpii subsp. BD-4 is used. This therapeutic agent is sprayed on water in culture ponds or mixed in a feed and administered to fishes and shellfishes in the culture ponds. Since the microorganism present in the natural world is utilized, Vibrio infectious diseases can be treated without developing resistant germs or damaging the safety. The agent is extremely readily handled and the cost can be reduced. |
