PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconducting material with oxygen sufficiently supplied and generate an oxide superconducting material excellent in critical current density and critical temperature by a method wherein a sintered material in which oxygen is contained after begin sintered in the atmosphere with oxygen is subjected to shrinkproofing and again sintered in the atmosphere with oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A mold complete with temporary sintering is subjected to specified intermediate heat treatment in the atmosphere with oxygen to form an intermediate sintered material 1 having a rod shape. This sintered material is inserted into a tube material 2 made of metal to form a composite 3. This composite 3 is subjected to shrinkproofing by a rotary swaging apparatus R. A plurality of dice 6 provided freely movable on this apparatus R make the composite move lengthwise, and a taper face 6a of each die 6 treats the composite to make it shrinkproof. This realizes an element wire 13 consisting of a metal sheath 13b and a core wire 13a, obtaining an oxide superconducting material excellent in critical temperature and critical current density. |
